Coach Paint 9.7 has just been released and in this article, we want to show you every new feature that we have built for you!

⚠️ Important ⚠️

Before updating to Coach Paint 9.7, make sure to back up all your work. We suggest installing 9.6.2 first, so you can use our Back Up clips functionality!

New disk recorder

Until now, our disk recorder operated with a static file called "clips.dat," which occupied a fixed amount of space on your computer, regardless of your actual usage. If you allocated 100 GB for storage, that space was reserved continuously, even if you weren't actively using it. This system was inflexible and often resulted in users needing substantial free space on their devices.

With the release of Coach Paint 9.7, we're introducing a Dynamic Disk Recorder that changes the game entirely. Here's why you'll love it:

  1. Efficient Storage Management: The Dynamic Disk Recorder adapts to your needs in real-time. It no longer locks up large amounts of storage space unnecessarily. Your storage space will be used intelligently, ensuring you have room for what matters most.

  2. Space Optimization: Say goodbye to the days of excessive storage requirements. You can now work with large video files without worrying about your disk space running out.

  3. Simplified Workflow: Focus on your creative process, not storage management. The Dynamic Disk Recorder seamlessly integrates with your work, providing a hassle-free experience.

Frame Rate Transcoding:

Now, you can effortlessly adapt your videos to the desired frame rate. In the Config Editor, specify the frame rate you want to work with, and let our software do the rest. It will intelligently transcode your videos to match your chosen frame rate, simplifying your editing process and ensuring a smooth output.

This new feature eliminates the need for manual adjustments, external transcoding, or faster/slower video outputs!

Live presets changing from the timeline!

In previous versions, if you wanted to switch to a different preset (cursor, line style, measurements, tag color, etc.) after placing an animation on the timeline, it involved deleting and re-adding elements, which could be cumbersome and time-consuming.

Now, with Coach Paint 9.7, you can effortlessly right-click on the timeline where your animation is located, and a convenient menu will appear, allowing you to change the preset of your animation on the spot. Whether it's adjusting the cursor style, line type, measurements, tag color, or any other element, you can make these changes seamlessly, without interrupting your creative flow.

Quick Clip-Splitting Shortcuts

In the past, splitting longer video clips into smaller segments involved a series of steps and menu navigation. With Coach Paint 9.7, we've streamlined this process with Quick Clip Splitting Shortcuts, putting the power in your hands.

How It Works:

  1. Navigate to the Desired In-Point: Move the timeline bar to the exact spot in your video clip where you want to start your new segment.

  2. Use the In-Point Shortcut: Simply use the designated in-point keyboard shortcut (Control+B or Command+B).

  3. Navigate to the Desired Out-Point: Move the timeline bar to where you want your segment to end.

  4. Use the Out-Point Shortcut: Use the designated out-point keyboard shortcut (Control+F or Command+F).

  5. Automated Clip Placement: The new clip will be seamlessly placed in the first available slot, allowing you to continue working on your current clip without interruption.

This feature allows for precision editing without the hassle. You can seamlessly cut and create new clips, enhancing your video projects with ease, all while staying focused on your creative process.

Restore backed-up clip functionality

Building upon the back-up clips functionality introduced in Version 9.6.2, we're excited to unveil the Restore Clips feature in Version 9.7. Now, you can continue the process by effortlessly restoring those backed-up clips. This feature offers you greater flexibility and peace of mind in your editing journey.

How It Works:

  1. Back Up Your Clips in 9.6.2: In the previous version, ensure you've backed up your clips using the back up clips functionality.

  2. Upgrade to 9.7: Upgrade to Coach Paint 9.7 to access the Restore Clips feature.

  3. Seamless Restoration: With Version 9.7, you can seamlessly restore those backed-up clips, ensuring that you have access to your previous work whenever you need it.
