Customize your artist and song catalog

Updated over a month ago

Welcome to Cobrand! The first step in your onboarding journey is adding songs to your catalog. There are a few quick steps here, starting with artists and ending with linking matched sounds. Check out the video and written instructions below for details.

Adding artists and songs

When you log into Cobrand on a new account, you will be asked to connect your first artist. Once you have done so, the next step is to add in their top songs. Click Add Song to browse their catalog, or add in a Spotify link. We recommend tracking any recent releases, plus the artist's top 5 songs historically. This is a good way to find creators who used their sounds in the past, and to find trends and communities where the artist is already resonating.

You can also track unreleased sounds here. Click the middle tab and add in the relevant sound links. They can be TikTok, Instagram or Youtube (as a heads up, Youtube sound links can be slower to import than the other two). Once the official song is released, you can click "Link to official song" at the top of the song deep-dive page to keep all pre-release data and content.

Note: After adding a song, it can take 24 hours for all data sources to populate.

To untrack a song, hover over the row in the Catalog and click Stop Tracking. To untrack an artist, reach out to us and we can do it for you (we like to be careful with this one so that you don't accidentally delete campaigns and drops by association!).

Tracking and matching sounds

Once you add a song, we automatically track the official Tiktok and Instagram sounds when we can detect them. If you do not see them under Sounds, toggle over to Matched Sounds to add them over or use the Link Sounds button. Currently, Youtube shorts sounds must be manually added using this button. Note: Make sure you grab the sound link, and not the video link for a given post.

Since the tracked sounds are the basis for ingesting UGC, and populating social metrics in the graph, it is important to match over unofficial sounds with significant create engagement. Match songs by clicking Link on the row, or select in bulk.

Cobrand will continue to harvest matched sounds on an ongoing basis after the initial sync. For this reason we suggest checking Matched Sounds periodically to track over any unofficial sounds that are trending.

To untrack a sound, simply hover over the row and click the delete icon.
