There are a few approaches you can take on Cobrand to find great creators to work with. The best method depends on what your starting place is, and what your constraints are. Keep reading to learn more!
Find creators who already used the sound you are promoting
This is the most straightforward approach: work with creators who organically used the exact song you wish to promote.
Navigate to your Catalog page, and click into the song itself (make sure you are tracking it 24 hours before you start this process). Navigate down to Impactful Posts. This is a curated list of the most impactful content using the sounds matched to this song. Cobrand updates this list on a daily basis, pulling in 500 videos per sound. For best results, make sure to track all unofficial sounds with significant create volume, so you don't miss out on that content. You can do this in the section right above, by clicking Link Sound on the row or applying in bulk.
Within Impactful Posts, you will see hundreds of videos. If you have requirements like location, you can filter the list down. Similarly, you can filter to see only creators who have email addresses available. By default, posts are sorted from highest to lowest on Views, but you can sort by a variety of metrics to quickly find top content.
The grid view is great for a bird's eye view of the video content. But to see the performance metrics at once glance, it is easier to flip to List view and sort on whatever is most important to you. Whether in List or Grid view, click the thumbnail to view the post. In the post modal, you will see performance metrics including Engagement Rate (Likes + Shares + Comments divided by Views).
If the post resonates with the intention of your campaign, click View creator Profile to view their other content. You will also be able to see their followers, country, and average engagement rate. Median values are based on the most recent 10 posts.
Click "Save" in the top left to add to your Saved creator list. You can keep searching, and revisit the list at the end. The button "Add To Promo" is a shortcut to add them right into a campaign.
Cobrand will list an email if it is publicly available in bio or via an Email Me button. If this field is empty, need to reach out to the creator for it, and then manually add it in. At this time, Cobrand does not have an integrated DM feature (coming soon though!).
The other fields in the left panel are private to your account and are meant to help your team collaborate effectively. In particular, custom tags are a helpful way to sort creators on a variety of dimensions - which may include but aren't limited to, theme, relevant artist, event, or song release.
Find creators who already used any of your Artist's sounds
Similar to above, a great place to start is to find creators who used some of the artist's other songs in the past.
Ahead of time, ensure your Catalog is set up to track the Artist's top historical tracks so you have a solid sample of video content. As with normal set-up of a new song, check that you are tracking all official and trending unofficial sounds. In general, we suggest doing this whenever you add a new Artist so that this is ready to go :)
Once this is set up, head over to the Videos tab and filter to the Artist. This will return all videos for those top 5 tracks in one place. From here, view content and save creators using the same approach as above. Tip: extend your look-back window to get a greater range of content, and make sure to look at the median engagement metrics within the creator Profile view.
Find creators who used similar sounds to the one you are promoting
Alternatively, you can assemble a group of similar sounds from other artists, and pull in top performing videos using those sounds. This is a great way to find new and relevant creators and untapped fan communities.
To get started with this approach, navigate to Segments and click New Segment. Within this modal, click Add Sounds. From here, you can add top trending sounds by genre, or, you can curate specific track and artists using the search bars at the top. By default, songs are sorted descending by lifetime creates. Tip: you can scroll right to see more engagement metrics, and can instead filter on 24hr trend instead of lifetime.
If you are basing your search on genre or Artist, keep in mind the list is sorted descending by lifetime creates. To change this, scroll to the right to sort on additional 24-hour creates or 24-hour % change.
In general, having a couple genre Segments and periodically updating them is a good way to stay on top of trending sounds even if you are not running a campaign in particular. You can have as many as you like, and archive them when not needed!
Find creators who post content relevant to search cues
If you wish to find creators based on a community they engage with and not necessarily which sounds they use, you can create a search space Segment instead.
As above, go into Segments. Instead of picking sounds, add in search terms in the bottom half of the modal. Instead of pulling in videos using a specific sound, Cobrand will pull in videos relating to any of the search terms. Some examples might be: booktok, roadtripping, summer, ibiza.
You can mix and match search terms and sounds in a single segment, or separate them out.
Tip: tracking your artist's name in a Segment is good practice in case a relevant post for an artist happens to use an untracked sound, hence would otherwise be missed in the Song view.
Find creators based on reach and profile characteristics
If you do not have video content type constraints, and are not focused on a narrowly defined audience, you can alternatively browse the entire Cobrand database of creators (over 10MM+ and counting). This can be useful if you are looking for high-reach, in specific markets, with broad audience definition.
For this approach, navigate to the Creator Search page. From here, you can filter on country, their average engagement rate, and the genre of music they have posted in the past. By default, creators listed must have a public email, and a price listed, but you can clear those preferences. Note: the price estimate metrics are universal. They do not reflect prices you paid the creator, nor does it reflect what you may have entered for the creator in their editable price field.
From here, you can click into a thumbnail to explore the creator's profile and associated action items in that view.
