Adding an HTML Block

Learn how to dress up your course page with custom text and media

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how to add an HTML block to a course that will allow instructors to further personalize the course page.

Procedure

  1. Make sure you are in Edit mode.

  2. Click Add a block – top of side navigation bar.

  3. Use the scroll bar to move to the bottom of the list and select Text (previously called HTML).

  4. A pop-up window will appear.

  5. Enter the desired information. To add a photo or video, click the horizontal dots to expand the editor and choose the appropriate icon.

  6. Save changes.

    Save changes button.

  7. Your next HTML (Text) block will appear in the right side navigation pane. You may need to scroll down to find it.

  8. Move your HTML (Text) block to a different place in your right side navigation pane by clicking the cross in the top right of the HTML (Text) block. This opens a list of placement options. To select a location, click an option. In this case, the top option is selected. This will move the HTML (Text) block to the very top of the side navigation panel

  9. Click the three vertical dots to hide or delete the new HTML (Text) block.
