Adding Internet Links to your Course

Learn how to add links to web sources that enhance student learning

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how to add links to Internet resources as activities or to provide more topic information

Procedure

  1. Start with Edit mode on

  2. In the correct section of your course, click Add an activity or resource

  3. At the bottom of the activities and resources screen, select the URL mini tile

  4. Name your link resource, paste in the URL, (optional) add a description, and (optional) check the Display description on course page box

  5. Save your changes

  6. The resource will show up on your course page

  7. Clicking the link will take the student directly to the resource. For uncaptioned videos, there is almost always a closed caption service (CC). For purposes of accessibility, please mention this to students. In addition, the speed of the speaker can be slowed down my clicking the video’s gear wheel
