Adding Internet Links to your Course

Learn how to add links to web sources that enhance student learning

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how to add links to Internet resources.

Procedure

  1. Start with Edit mode on.

  2. In the correct section of your course, click the cross icon and choose Activity or resource.

  3. At the bottom of the activities and resources screen, select the URL tile.

  4. Name your link resource, paste in the URL, (optional) add a description, and (optional) check the Display description on course page box.

  5. Save your changes.

  6. The resource will show up on your course page.

  7. If linking to a YouTube video, it's a good idea to mention the CC icon for closed captioning to students. In addition, the speed of the speaker can be slowed down my clicking the video’s gear wheel.
