Creating a Collage Activity with H5P

Learn how to feature images for study, inspiration, or layered learning

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to provide step-by-step instructions for creating a collage activity in a Moodle course.

Procedure

  1. Make sure editing is on.

  2. Click the More tab.

  3. Choose Content bank.

  4. Click the Add button.

  5. Scroll down the menu and choose Collage.

  6. Give your collage a title.

  7. Choose a layout.

  8. Locate your images and save them to your computer.

  9. Once saved, open the image and save it as a PNG file because it will probably be an unsupported JPEG.

  10. Click one of the collage boxes with a + sign in the middle.

  11. Add all of your photos one by one. You can use the + and – to zoom in and out.

  12. Save your work.

  13. Click the Course tab to add the activity.

  14. Click Add an activity or resource in the appropriate course section.

  15. Select the H5P mini tile.

  16. Name your activity, type instructions in the description box (optional), and check the box next to Display description on course page (optional).

  17. Click the file icon to upload the activity from the Content bank.

  18. Make sure Content bank is selected and then click on your activity.

  19. Click the Select this file button.

  20. The file will load.

  21. Set other assignment criteria as you normally would.

  22. Save your changes.

  23. The activity will display on your course page.
