Create a Sort the Paragraph Activity

Learn how to add an H5P activity to support student writing progress

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to provide step-by-step instructions for adding an H5P Sort the Paragraph activity to a Moodle course.

Procedure

  1. Turn editing on.

  2. Click the More tab in your course.

  3. Choose Content bank from the list.

  4. In the Content bank, click Add .

  5. Scroll down and select Sort the Paragraphs.

  6. Add a title, instructions, and a different paragraph in each paragraph box. Add the paragraphs in order since this will also be the activity solution.

  7. Scroll down and click Save.

  8. Test your activity by arranging the paragraphs and clicking the Check button.

  9. To add the activity to your course, click Add an activity.

  10. Select the H5P mini tile.

  11. Name your activity, type instructions in the description box (optional), and click the box next to Display description on course page (optional).

  12. Click the file icon to add the activity stored in the Content bank.

  13. In the File picker, select Content bank and then choose the activity you created.

  14. Verify the file by clicking the Select this file button.

  15. The file will appear.

  16. Save your changes.

  17. An alternate way of setting up this activity is to choose the Page tile instead of the H5P tile.

  18. You would then insert the activity using the H5P button on the ribbon and browsing in the Content bank.

  19. The activity will display on the course page.

  20. The student will click the activity link and start ordering paragraphs. When finished, the student will click the Check button.

  21. Paragraphs in the correct order will appear in green. Paragraphs in the wrong order will appear in red.
