Access your Panopto Course Folder

Three ways to access your Panopto course folder

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how instructors can access their Panopto course folder.

Procedure

METHOD ONE

  1. Click the Panopto link in your course’s side navigation bar

2. You will see your My Folder located in the left side menu

3. Click Create to record a video. Once you are finished, it will upload to your My Folder automatically unless you select your course folder from the dropdown menu on the video processing page

4. If you save to My Folder, you can add subfolders and drag each video to the preferred subfolder for better organization. You can then link or embed your video in your course from My Folder.

METHOD TWO

5. Add the Panopto block by clicking the Add a block button in the course side navigation pane and then scrolling down the choice list to Panopto and clicking it

6. The block will appear near the bottom of your course side navigation pane. Click Course settings to get to your course folder. You will have to click out of the course settings pop up box

METHOD THREE

7. Add an activity or resource to your course

8. Select the Panopto mini tile

9. Name your “activity” something like Panopto Folder and save

10. This will create an access point to your course videos within your Moodle course

11. A word on permissions: if you do not adjust your video permissions, students may not be able to view your video

12. Change your permissions by hovering over the video in My Folder and clicking the Share icon

13. Click the Change link

14. Panopto defaults to Restricted. Change to Your Organization (unlisted) or Public (unlisted)
