Purpose
The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how to add a student Panopto video assignment in a course.
Procedure
1. Click the + icon and Activity or resource to create an activity that goes well with a video assignment.
2. In this case, the activity will be a forum post.
3. Name the activity and provide instructions.
4. Save your changes.
5. The activity will appear on the course page
6. To ensure students can see the submissions of their peers, go to your Panopto account and click Browse.
7. Find your course and click it. The course below is called Resource Library.
8. The assignments folder will appear. Click to open.
9. Find the three vertical dots in the upper right of your screen and click them.
10. Select Settings.
11. Select Settings again and check the box next to Allow viewers to see each other’s sessions.
Note: this is a permanent change to this folder. If you do not want students seeing peer submissions for a later activity, you will need to create a new assignments folder in Panopto.
12. In this case, the student accesses the activity on the course page and clicks Add discussion topic.
13. The student adds a forum post title and clicks the Panopto icon on the ribbon.
14. The student clicks the Record tab.
15. The student names the recording and selects the Capture in browser option.
16. The student records the video by clicking the round record button to start and the square stop button to finish.
17. The student ensures the assignments folder is selected.
18. Once the video loads, the student clicks the Insert button and the Post to forum button. The student’s video response will then be available for viewing by course peers.
