VLE: Virtual Learning Environment

Learn how to access the cybersecurity course Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)

Purpose

Cybersecurity courses may require use of the department VLE to access virtual machines (VMs). Refer to the document below for log in procedures and for what do do in the event of an error.

If you have issues beyond what is addressed in the document, you should reach out to your instructor.

VLE: Virtual Learning Environment

The VLE is a tool frequently used by the Cybersecurity Department to provide students easy access to the VMs they need for classwork.

Accessing the VLE

To access provisioned VMs, students need to navigate to the Cyber Portal and log in with Cochise College credentials.

Common Issues:

  • Students must use the “MyCochise” Authenticator when logging in with school credentials.

  • If the student has been given a unique username/password by the instructor, that student will need to use the “CYBER” Authenticator. (This is infrequent, but occurs in special circumstances.)

  • If a student has changed his or her college account password, that student will not be able to log into the VLE for up to 24 hours. Once students change their password, the bridge between the systems is broken. The system only sync once each day, so these students must wait until the sync occurs to gain account access again.

Remediation of issues:

Issues with the VLE beyond verifying correct login information should be addressed to the course instructor.
