Pearson + Respondus LockDown Browser w/ Respondus Monitor

Purpose

This article is for instructors who use Pearson’s Respondus LockDown Browser and want to add the Respondus Monitor (webcam/remote proctoring) feature.

Procedure

Retrieve the Code

First, you need to retrieve the Respondus Monitor code from your Moodle course so that you can insert it into the appropriate field in the Pearson LockDown Browser setup.

Within your Moodle course, click on the Respondus LockDown Browser Dashboard… link, located in the right block drawer section of your course homepage.

If you don’t have the Respondus LockDown Browser block in the block drawer, please follow these steps:

  1. Turn Edit mode On at the upper right of the course page.

  2. Click on Add a block just below the Edit mode toggle switch.

  3. Click on your desired selection from the blocks list.

  4. It takes just a moment or two - The new item will automatically appear at or near the bottom of the blocks column on the right side of your course page.

After clicking on the Respondus LockDown Browser Dashboard… link within the block drawer of your course homepage, click on the Other Systems tab.

The code you need to enter at the Pearson setup screen will display under the Pearson MyLab heading within the Other Systems tab. Write it down.

Using the Code in Pearson MyLab

Go to your Pearson MyLab course to set up the exam requiring students to use the Pearson LockDown Browser with Respondus Monitor.
