Updated over 7 months ago

Purpose

To show the phases of the Workshop Peer Review activity as the student would see them.

Workshop phases

Here is a brief summary of what your students will see as they navigate the phases of the Workshop Peer Review activity.

Setup Phase

While you are working on the Setup phase - prior to activating the Submission phase - the students will first see a screen that looks like this.

Workshop Setup phase shown highlighted green.

Submission Phase

Once you complete the Setup phase and click the Submission phase to activate the Workshop Peer Review, the students will find that the Submission phase is now active.

They can read the open and close dates/times for both the Submission phase and the Assessment (peer reviewing) phase.

The students will not be able to submit their paper until the open date/time has arrived.

When the Submission phase open date/time arrives, the students can submit and they will see a screen that looks similar to the screens above and below. Below shows a submitted paper.

They can’t submit after the close date/time. The student name does not appear on the screen to their classmates. If you want the name revealed, tell the students to include their name on the paper or the submission in the text editor.

Example Submission attached to page. Edit Submission and Delete Submission buttons shown.

Assessment Phase

You can manually activate the Assessment phase or choose the option for the phase to activate automatically.

Whichever option you choose, the students will see a screen similar to the one below, when the phase is open. They can now click on the Assess button to begin reviewing a peer paper.

The student assessment questionnaire may look something like this (depending on the choices you made during the Setup phase). Students will fill-in their answers and click to Save their review.

The “assessor’s” name will be hidden from the classmate they are reviewing. You can tell them to “sign” in the feedback section if you want their name to be revealed to their classmate.
