Purpose
To walk through the process of setting up and working with the Whole Forum Grading Style in a Forum Activity.
Background
Whole Forum Grading is a robust forum grading method designed as an option to the original Ratings grading style.
Procedure
For the basic setup, go to your Forum settings page and find the Whole Forum Grading section.
Choose Point for the grade Type and input the number value in the Maximum grade field. The default is 100 points.
You can keep the default Grading method, Simple direct grading, or try using Rubric or Grading guide.

How to Grade with Whole Forum Grading
Once students have posted to the forum, click on the forum link at your course page.
Click on the Grade users button located above the list of forum posts.
* Clicking on the title of the student posts will not get you to the grading screen. You need to click on the Grade users button.
The Whole Forum Grading screen displays all the posts that each student has made to the forum. Please view the list of options on the screenshot below.

Posts made by the student appear on the left side of the screen.
If you wish to reply to students' posts, click the View Discussion button to interact with the posts. You also have the option to reply privately to students in Forums.
You can Show/Hide the right-hand menu using an icon to the left of the save button.
Save the grade button in the upper right-hand corner.
Cycle through the student roster by clicking on the left/right arrows or clicking the search icon on the right side of the screen.
Post the grades in the Grade box.
You can interact in the forum as you normally would by clicking on student forum posts from the main listing or clicking on the View Discussion buttons on the Whole Forum Grading screen.
Reply privately is a new feature. Depending on which view you select, the tab may look different.

Export forum posts (if desired)
If you would like to download forum posts:
Click on the More dropdown menu
Select Export
Alternatively, you can click on Forum Summary report by clicking on the Reports Tab
The Export screen offers the opportunity to select more than one student from the Search tab.
You can also choose which Discussions you want, along with date range restrictions and file format.
Click on the Export button at the bottom of the screen when you are ready!
