Purpose
The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the steps to take in order to copy a limited number of items from one course to another.
Procedure
Search for the course you want to copy from using the five-digit or nine-digit CRN. The CRN is at the end of the course title on your course page.
2. In one browser tab, open the course you are copying from. In another browser tab, open the course you are copying to.
Note
It’s helpful to write down the CRNs (e.g. From: 10000, To: 20000).
Examine the contents of the “From” course to be certain these are the materials you want to copy into the “To” course.
3. In the course the content will be copied into (the “To” course), click the More dropdown menu.
4. Select Course Reuse from the drop-down menu.
5. On the next page, make sure “Import” is selected from the dropdown in the upper left corner.
6. You might see the course you want to copy from in the list that displays.
If so, click on the radio button to select it and then click on the Continue button at the bottom of the page. Otherwise, type the CRN of the From course into the search field at the bottom of that page.
7. Click on the Search button.
8. The From course should now display. Click the radio button next to the course and click on the Continue button at the bottom of the page.
9. On the Import settings page, keep only the following items check-marked:
Include activities and resources
Include files
Include question bank
NOTE. Don’t keep the Question bank marked if you are not copying quizzes!
Include content bank content
10. Click the Next button.
11. Select items to import.
12. Uncheck everything except for the item(s) you want to copy.
Note
There is a None option at the top of the list. It is easier to deselect everything first and then just pick the few that you need.
13. In order to select specific items, check the box in the section where an item is housed, and then select the individual items.
(this example shows three items selected)
14. When you are finished reviewing, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Next.
15. Review content to import.
Items with the green checkmark will be copied. ✔
Items with a red X will not be copied.
16. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Perform import.
17. You’ll see a progress status bar. Do not close the window until it is completed.
Click Continue.
