Purpose
The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how to set up completion conditions for a Q&A forum post.
Note
This forum type is used when you do not want a student to see classmates' posts until the student makes an initial post. This helps prevent plagiarism.
The example demonstrates the setup if students must make one initial post and then are required to reply to a minimum of two classmates - 3 total posts.
The example shows that 3 posts/replies are required; however, your requirements may differ (Two total posts, etc.)
Procedures
Under Forum type, select Q & A forum from the dropdown menu
βScroll down to Activity completion and choose Show activity as complete when conditions are met from the Completion tracking dropdown menu
If a grade is required, choose either Rating or Whole forum
Place a checkmark in the box next to Student must post discussions or replies. Input the total number of posts AND replies students must make to show this activity as complete. Leave Require discussions and Require replies unchecked for this particular forum setup
Click Save and display at the bottom of the page
