Purpose
The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how to change the course grade display to a letter, number, a combination of the two, or to award points.
Procedure
From your course homepage, click on Grades.
Click on the drop-down and select Gradebook setup.
To the right of your course name, click the three horizontal dots and then select Edit category.
In the Edit category section, click on the “Show more…” link
In the Category total section, look for Grade display type.
Select your preferred Grade display type from the dropdown menu (“Real” means points).
Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.
Return to your Grader Report page and you will see the change reflected on the page.
You may need to refresh your browser page to see the change
Test your selection to see how it will appear to students.
From your course homepage, click on Grades.
Click on the drop-down and select User report.
Choose one of your students from the dropdown menu.
Scroll to the bottom of the user Grade report to preview what is displayed in the Course total.
If this isn’t what you want, repeat the process from the top of this document to choose a different display type.
