Purpose
This article explains how to download and test the Respondus LockDown Browser through Student Resources and how to download the browser and launch an exam.
Background
Some of your online exams may require the Respondus LockDown Browser. To take that test, you must download the browser first.
Note
Windows and Mac computers work far better with Respondus than IPads and Chromebooks.
The application link is college-specific. If you have used Respondus at another institution, you must delete and update it with the Cochise College information.

It's a good idea to take a practice quiz/test with LockDown Browser before your first real quiz or test.
Log in to Moodle.
Return to Student Resources in the Student Quick Links block in the block drawer. Click the link and then click the Respondus tile.
Click on the Practice - LockDown Browser Quiz and attempt to complete the quiz. This quiz will not affect your grades, and you can take it as many times as you'd like. If you have any issues, reach out to the LMS Support Team as soon as possible.
Launch an exam
Launch an exam
Go to your course in Moodle using your normal browser, such as Chrome or Firefox and click on your exam. You'll see the LockDown Browser message like the one below.
(If you already have the Respondus LockDown Browser installed, you will not have to install it again -- just click Launch LockDown Browser and begin the exam).
You may be prompted to show identification and your testing area. If you experience problems, look for the Help Center icon on the Lockdown Browser toolbar. Inform your instructor if you experience difficulty when taking an exam.
If you have unstable Internet or do not have a compatible device, you may visit a campus tutoring center to complete your exam during normal business hours.
If you aren't able to access the download link from your course, here is the DIRECT DOWNLOAD.
