Purpose
This article explores the review options within the quiz settings and offers helpful tips.
Breakdown
The Review options in the quiz settings will control what information students can see when they review their quiz/exam, and also what they see during the quiz attempt if you select adaptive mode.
During the attempt
Only available when, How questions behave is set to Immediate feedback, Immediate feedback with CBM, or Interactive with multiple tries.
If one of the above is selected, a button named “Check” will appear below the answer for each question. When clicked, the student receives immediate feedback.
Immediately after the attempt
Review options are available to the student within 2 minutes of submitting the quiz.
Later, while the quiz is still open
Review options are available to the student within 2 minutes of submitting but before the close date. If the quiz does not have a close date, this phase never ends.
After the quiz is closed
Note: This option is disabled in quizzes that do not have a close date. Otherwise, these options are available after the quiz close date.
Items within the 4 sections
The attempt: Displays the student’s responses to each question.
Whether correct: Displays whether the student’s response to each question is correct or incorrect.

Overall feedback: Displays feedback for the entire quiz as set in the quiz settings.
Three Important Tips!
Tip 1. Checking any of the boxes in the timeframe will reveal the test to the student.
For example, to allow students to see their quiz immediately after taking it but not later, uncheck all boxes in the columns for Later…. and After….
In this scenario, the student can view their grade but not get back into the quiz.
Tip 2. Users with the capability to View hidden grades (instructors and Moodle administrators) are not affected by these settings and will always be able to review all information about a student's attempt.
Tip 3. In your list of review options, you must have, The attempt selected before you can enable the options:
Whether correct, Specific feedback, General feedback, and Right answer.
If you choose not to let the students review the attempt, your only options are to display Points and Overall feedback.
