How to add or reset the Tutor.com link in your Moodle course
Procedure
ADD TUTOR.COM
Please note that editing the settings or adding a description to the activity has caused the link to break previously. Avoid adding or changing settings for the activity. Use the "Label" resource in your course if you want to give directions to your students about the link.
At your course homepage, click on the Turn Editing On button at the upper right corner.
In the top section of your course, click on the link, + Add an activity or resource.
In the Activity chooser, click on External tool (green puzzle piece).
Type, Tutor.com for the Activity name.
Adding content to the Description section of the settings will cause an authentication error for students when they try to access Tutor.com. Do not add content to the Description section.
Scroll down just a bit to the Privacy section.
Be sure to UN-check the box, Accept grades from the tool.
This ensures that Tutor.com will not appear in the gradebook as a graded item.
Lastly, scroll to the bottom of the page and locate the Activity completion section.
In the Completion tracking drop down menu, Choose Do not indicate activity completion.
Click the Save and return to course button at the bottom of the page.
RESET TUTOR.COM
Follow these steps if tutor.com is already on your course page but doesn’t seem to be working correctly.
Go to the Tutor.com settings screen.
In the General section, locate the item, Preconfigured tool.
Click on the drop-down next to preconfigured tool and choose Tutor.com from the list.
Go to the Privacy section.
UNCHECK the box, Accept grades from the tool.
Go to the Activity Completion section.
In the Completion tracking drop-down menu, Choose Do not indicate activity completion.
Go to the bottom of the page and click Save and return to course.
