Zoom: Use a CSV file to upload Zoom Polls in Moodle

This article demonstrates how to easily upload poll questions to a Scheduled Zoom meeting in Moodle.

Purpose

Upload poll questions to a scheduled Zoom meeting using a CSV file.

Requirements

Post Zoom meetings in Moodle by using the Moodle/Zoom Plugin.

Have knowledge of spreadsheets (Excel or similar app).

Procedure

  • First, schedule your meetings using the Zoom Plugin inside Moodle.

  • Click on the Zoom meeting link on your Moodle course page.

  • Click on the meeting title from your list of scheduled meetings.

  • The Poll section is located at the very bottom of the page.

  • Click on Download a CSV Template. This will prompt you to download a copy of the template to your computer. You will use it to create your Poll questions.

  • On your computer. Locate that file and open it.

  • Modify the Poll questions, as desired.

  • Rename the file and be sure to save it with the CSV format.

  • Return to the browser window where you downloaded the template file.

  • Click on the Import CSV button.

  • This will open the File Chooser on your computer.

  • Locate the file and select it to import to the Zoom meeting.

  • It should only take a few seconds to upload.

  • Scroll down to review the Poll(s) you uploaded for this meeting.

You’ll now be able to access these polls during the Zoom meeting!

Repeat the process for other scheduled Zoom meetings. This will not share the polls to meetings with a different Zoom meeting ID.
