Objective
Assign locations and services to staff members so that they can be included as part of the scheduling process when clients book appointments.
Steps
- From the navigation menu, click Staff 
- Navigate to the desired staff member and click the more actions (⋮) icon 
- Click Assignments 
- Search for the location(s) or location category where the staff member will be available to take client appointments 
- Click a location to view a list of available services at that location 
- Select each service the staff member will provide at that location - NOTE: A staff member who belongs to a staff group cannot be assigned individual services - they are automatically assigned the services that are associated with their staff group - To update their service assignments, either modify the services assigned to the group or set their staff group to none 
 
 
- If the staff member is assigned to multiple locations, repeat the service selection steps for each location 
- When ready, click Save

The following are some recommendations to consider when adding staff:
- Account Invites: By default, an account invite will not be shared with the new staff unless Send Account Invite is selected; as a best practice, Coconut recommends waiting to send account invites to staff until such a time as you want the staff member to be active in the platform 
- Categories & Booking Shortcuts: If your organization is using Staff Categories, assign the staff to a category to have them included in booking shortcuts that apply to that category 
- Languages: If a staff member can provide services in an additional language, this can be included in their profile; if included, clients/members can choose to be serviced by a staff member who speaks the language as part of the online booking process (provided that staff member can facilitate the service the client/member selected) 
- Limit Appointments: Consider setting a daily appointment limit for staff to help balance facilitating appointments with other commitments, such as non-appointment responsibilities, etc. 
A note on access and visibility
Admin users and managers can access other staff’s profile and assignment details.
