October - nothing says fall like pumpkin spice everything. Whether you like it in the form of thanksgiving pie or brewed into your lattes, you know October is here simply by the emergent of all pumpkin everything, everywhere. The spice must flow.
This past month, Coconut has been brewing some spicy updates of our own with several features graduating out of Beta, hosting a few webinars, and celebrating Women’s History Month. Follow our social accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) to celebrate the women of Coconut!
In late September we had a branch transformation webinar with Darryl King from Coastal Community Credit Union who used his expertise to guide the audience through different ways you can help customers and employees in the appointment economy. In case you missed it, you can catch it here.
We also hosted our very first customer-only webinar to introduce our Product Roadmap for Q4 2020 & 2021. We spent 45 minutes walking through all the exciting upcoming features and improvements, as well as hosting a Q&A. If you missed it, contact your Customer Success Manager to review it in more depth. We’ll also be sending out the FAQ document to everyone who registered. Want a copy? Shoot us an email and we’ll add you to the list.
Grab a hot, spiced beverage and cozy up while you review all the great evolutions we've made in the past 30 days.

New Features and Capabilities - launching Oct. 29th:
New Active Directory configurations have graduated from Beta and are now enabled for all (they just grow up so fast don’t they?):
For new users created by the Active Directory integration, Admins can configure the default values for Role and Visibility properties. This will be helpful for those who want to default all new staff members to a particular role (say Staff Advanced), or have new staff appear public or private.
For new and existing users, Admins have the option to automatically fill in Coconut’s External ID field with each user’s Microsoft ID. This is just one more piece of data your admins won’t have to manually fill out.
The Schedule Day View now saves preselected Staff feature is out of Beta and is now enabled for everyone.
We’ve made it easier to see the scheduling information you care about, faster. The Day view on the Schedule will now save selected Staff, then reload those same individuals the next time you visit the Schedule page. Each location has its own list, so you can set up preferred staff by each location.
Modern Client View Location step: progressing wonderfully through Beta and will be launched to everyone this month!
We are bringing lots of improvements to our location step on the Modern Client View. These improvements address both performance and user experience. Here are some of the highlights:
Only one click/tap is required to select a location - previously location details were shown and then selection could be made.
The map view is now available on mobile and list view
Areas that have many locations on the map will now be grouped into clusters for better visibility and usability.
We now detect the client’s location (when given permission) in order to show them the nearest locations.
When we don’t have access to a client’s location, we display a list of provinces/states to allow the client to select their relevant location.
Searching on the map view is greatly improved - after panning the map to a new area, clients can click to search the current area for an updated list of locations.
Microsoft Teams Integration
During the connection process we now allow for selecting either the staff email or username on the Coconut side to match up with UPN on the Microsoft side.
Schedule Redesign - reminder that the new schedule will be the only option for all users starting November 1st. Thank you to the Classic Schedule, may you enjoy the green pastures of Coconut’s Retirement Farm for Old UI.
Product Improvements - launching Oct. 29th:
When a location is not taking phone callbacks, you can now choose to show the contact information for the location so your customers can call the location directly for assistance.
The callback service allows you to skip the location selection step by passing in a location id. We now support passing in your location’s external id, which allows you to easily integrate the callback service with your internal systems.
Bug Fixes:
Managers can now see all services in Insights, even if they aren’t assigned any services
Sometimes cancelled appointments that were assigned a meeting space prevented a new appointment from using that space. All fixed and appointments are behaving nicely with each other again.
In the “Customer Contact Details” section of our email notifications, a customer’s home phone number will now be displayed if that is the only number provided.
It was possible to remove a user’s Microsoft ID if a specific set of steps were completed (like a not fun version of the Konami code). All fixed up!
When updating the Exchange account configurations, the Exchange Server Address was disabled in some cases when it shouldn’t be.
Fixed an issue with the “book another appointment” functionality on the confirmation page of the Client View.
Fixed an issue with the Classic Client View that could cause available times to not show up.
Fixed an issue on the redesigned schedule that could cause ‘&’ to display incorrectly on events. Naughty ampersand!
Fixed an issue where a user with a Manager role would be able to make an hours adjustment for all locations. Managers can no longer do this.
Fixed an issue on the Client View that could cause the day of the week indicator to appear visually incorrect when in the selected state.
Fixed an issue with booking shortcuts where meeting methods might not be taken into account when included in a shortcut.
Fixed a few issues related to filtering of resources on the Client View when a meeting method booking shortcut was used.
Fixed an issue with booking shortcuts where some clients were able to get to the service step of the Client View when they shouldn’t have been able to.
