How are grades calculated?

Overall grade explained

Updated over a year ago

Grades are calculated based on a student's submitted coursework consisting of their homework and quiz grades. Each course consists of 12 lessons, each lesson requires 2 homework practice projects and a quiz. Homework grades are 70% of students overall grade average, and use a scale of 1-5. Quizzes have a potential of 6 points and account for 30% of students overall grade average.

Projects are scored as follows:

0 - The student did not attempt to complete the projects

1 - The student attempted one of the projects, but did not complete it

2 - The student attempted both of the projects, but did not complete them

3 - The student completed one project, but did not attempt the other

4 - The student completed one project and attempted the other

5 - The student completed both projects successfully
