With the ScratchPad, micro-manage your bot knowledge with:

  1. Custom Response Snippets: Use snippets of response generated by your bot as new knowledge.

  2. Additional Data: Introduce new information to make Cody more informed instantly.

  3. Hybrid Knowledge: Combine snippets of response and new data resulting in versatile responses.

How Can You Start Using the ScratchPad?

  1. Initiate a Conversation: Create a conversation and let Cody generate a response.

  2. Access the ScratchPad: Simply click on the three dots next to the response and then 'Add to Scratchpad'.

  3. View & Modify: The response snippet will be visible in the ScratchPad for any modifications.

  4. Save or Focus: Save the snippets to the knowledge base for future use, or employ the ‘Focus’ mode to instantly leverage the data as knowledge for the ongoing conversation.

Using Text Formatting on ScratchPad

ScratchPad isn't just a simple notepad—it understands various text formatting styles too! Provide textual hierarchy with formatting styles such as:

  • Headings: Organize and identify main topics or sections.

  • Bold: Highlight key points or important information.

  • Underlines/Highlights: Emphasize specific text or terms.

Try:

  • “What are the headings provided in the ScratchPad?”

  • “Can you summarize the bolded text?”
