Cognibuild uses a credit system to track usage across its AI-powered workflows. Credits are consumed when AI processing is used to generate or refine documents. The estimated credit cost is always shown before you run something, so you can see what an action will use before it happens.
What consumes credits
Credits are used when you:
Generate a document (producing structured deliverables)
Update or expand a document (refining or adding to sections)
Use AI chat within a document
Generating a document uses more credits than chatting with one, since generation involves more processing. AI chat within a document uses fewer credits, though the exact amount depends on what is being done.
Simple actions such as viewing documents, editing manually, and navigating the platform do not consume credits.
How many credits each plan includes
Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance:
Plan | Credits/mo |
Free | 30 |
Solo Starter | 150 |
Solo Standard | 300 |
Solo Pro | 750 |
Team Starter | 750 |
Team Standard | 1,500 |
Team Pro | 2,500 |
Enterprise | Custom |
Renewal and running out
Paid plan credits refresh at the start of each monthly billing cycle. Monthly credits do not roll over from one cycle to the next.
If you reach your credit limit, you can either upgrade to a higher tier with a larger monthly allowance, or add bolt-on credits. Bolt-on credits are added to your account and never expire; they remain available until you use them. You are warned before your credits are exhausted.
