A Key Deliverable is one body of professional work a project needs, such as a Project Brief, Client Requirements, or a Planning strategy. Rather than writing one from a blank page, you produce it in Cognibuild by assigning your supporting documents and selecting the work you want generated.
How a Key Deliverable is structured
Each Key Deliverable is made up of tasks, organised into groups.
Groups are the workstreams within a deliverable, the distinct threads of work it involves. They act as the menu you navigate, each holding its own tasks.
Tasks are the individual pieces of work you select and run. Each task produces a specific part of the deliverable.
This structure is what lets you build a deliverable piece by piece rather than all at once. You open a Key Deliverable, browse its groups, and select the tasks you want to produce.
You choose what goes into it
A Key Deliverable is not a fixed template that comes out the same way every time. You select the specific tasks you want, so the output reflects what your project actually needs. Two people producing the same Key Deliverable can generate very different outputs, depending on which tasks they select. Cognibuild produces only the tasks you choose, grounded in the documents you have assigned, and nothing beyond that.
Building it up over time
A Key Deliverable is a body of work with a life, not something produced once and closed. You can come back to it from different stage cards as the project develops, run more tasks, and rerun existing ones to refine them as your information becomes clearer. You can see which deliverables are available and add the ones you need to your project, then build each one up using its groups and tasks.
