Introduction
There are multiple roles within Cogniss. Each role has a specific purpose that is important for managing your apps. A user role distinguishes what someone can see and do within the platform and within individual apps.

There are three categories of user role in Cogniss:
Platform-level roles
App-level roles
Non-admin users
Platform-level roles
These roles have access to all apps within the Cogniss platform. There are three platform-level roles (Platform Admin, Analyst and Moderator) and each has access to specific platform functions and data.
Platform Admin
The highest level of admin. People in this role have access to the entire platform functionality, including previewing all apps.
Can preview all Mobile and Web apps on the platform
Access to all areas of the product (Creator, Studio and Insights)
Have access to all user data and personal information, including username, email address and app activities
Ability to download all user data via Insights (user data, activity log, question logs, event logs)
Can configure platform settings and assign platform-level roles to other team members
Can control the accessibility of app admins and non-admins
Platform Analyst
This role is for viewing app data and user activities through Insights. They also have view-only access (no editing permission) to Creator for all apps within the platform.
Can preview all Mobile and Web apps in the platform
Access to all products (Creator, Studio and Insights) but with view-only permission to Creator and Studio apps
Access to all users' data including user emails, usernames and activities
Ability to download data via Insights (user data, activity log, question log and event log).
Cannot access platform configuration settings (Admin page)
Cannot assign team members to admin roles
Platform Moderator
This role regulates posts in Newsfeed and manages team functionality for all apps within the platform.
Can preview all Mobile and Web apps on the platform
Can access all products (Creator, Studio and Insights) but has limited configuration to Creator - Posts, Teams, Campaign and Users menu only
Can manage all social posts in all apps
Ability to ban users from the app
Cannot access users' data and includes users' email addresses, usernames and activities
Cannot download users' data and activity logs via Insights
Cannot access platform configuration settings (Admin page)
Cannot assign team members to admin roles
App-level roles
These roles have access to only the apps that they are assigned to as an admin. There are three app-level roles (similar to Platform-level roles) and each role has access to specific app functions and data. These are App Admin, App Analyst and App Moderator.
It is important to take note that app-level roles do not have access to the personal information (including email addresses and usernames) of users. Some platform profile data can however be shared with app-level roles by a Platform Admin.
App Admin
This role can access and configure all functionality of apps they are assigned to. It is important to note that anyone who creates an app on Cogniss, is automatically made an App Admin of that app.
Can access apps to which they are granted Admin access.
Have full access to configure specific apps in Creator
Can view all user and activity data via Insights
Ability to assign team members to be App Analysts and App Moderators
Limited access to users' data
Can view profile information from the specific app's settings (App-level profile data)
No access to personal identifier* information which is configured on the Cogniss Platform-level settings.
Have access to users' activity logs via Insights
Can access display name and account creation date

β*Personal identifier - information about users (for example: first name, last name, username, email address) that are deemed to be personal. This can be configured in the platform-level settings within Cogniss by platform admins only.

App Analyst
This role is for viewing data and users' activities for a specific app through Insights. This role has view-only access (no editing permission) to the Creator.
Access a view-only version of Creator and Studio to apps that are assigned to them as App Analysts
Access to users' activity logs via Insights
Limited access to users' data
Access to profile information that has been set within App settings (App level profile data)
Access to users' activity logs via Insights
Can access display name and account creation date
No access to personal identifier information from Platform-level profile
No access to username and email address
Cannot download users' data via Insights
Cannot assign app roles to other team members
App Moderator
This app role is to regulate posts in Newsfeed and manage team functionality for a specific app.
Limited configuration to Creator - Posts, Teams, Campaign and Users menu only
Manage social posts
Ability to ban users
Cannot preview users' personal data and this includes users' email addresses, usernames and activities
Cannot download users' activity log
Cannot assign other team members to admin roles
Non-admin users
Anyone who creates a new account in Cogniss and has yet to create their own app, starts off as a standard user with non-admin capabilities. These users have limited access to the platform and app settings. They can preview public apps and any private apps (if given permission by a Platform Admin).
Can only preview public Mobile and Web apps (unless given access to private apps using a QR code)
Cannot access Cogniss products (Insights, Creator and Studio) unless given permission to access by Platform Admin
Can create apps (including Studio apps) only if given permission by Platform Admin
Cannot configure an app through Creator
Cannot preview other users' data and activity log (can only see their own data)
Cannot download users' data and activity logs via Insights
Cannot assign any roles to other team members
