About Multiselect Content

Multiselect content allows users to select multiple items simultaneously from a list or a set of options in response to a question or prompt set by the app creator. It differs from a multiple-choice content type by enabling the user to choose several items at once rather than being limited to a single selection.

The multiselect content type can display options to the user in 6 different formats:

  • Default: Shows options in a regular list format.

  • Icon Select: Presents options with both text and an icon.

  • Icon Only Select: Shows only icons for options, no text to go with them.

  • Grid Icon Select: Options are shown in a grid layout with icons and text

  • Grid Icon Only Select: Options are shown in a grid layout with icons only, no text

  • Tag Cloud: Options are displayed like tags in grouping on the page

  • Checkbox: Shows options with checkboxes for multiple selections.

Note: Horizontal slider & vertical slider are legacy options, to use a slider functionality please utilise the “Slider” content type.

How to use it

To use this content type, simply:

  1. Create a new content block by clicking the Create new content block button

  2. Assign a Data Label to the content block

  3. Select MULTISELECT as the content type

  4. Fill in the user-facing label for this content type (this is the label that the user will see and read)

  5. Limit the number of options a user can select (if required) by ticking Max selections and assigning a number. (The maximum number of choices or options that can be selected from a given set)

  6. Choose how you’d like your options to be displayed to the user (from DEFAULT, ICON_SELECT, ICON_ONLY_SELECT, GRID_ICON_SELECT, GRID_ICON_ONLY_SELECT, TAG_CLOUD, or CHECKBOX)

  7. Add Options by giving each one a data label, a user-facing label, and an icon (if applicable)

  8. If this is part of a scored survey, you will need to assign a score to any options that it may apply to

  9. Click Save Changes
