Tracking Your Transfer: How to Find Your Transaction Hash (TXID)

A Transaction Hash (also known as a TXID) is a unique string of letters and numbers that acts as a digital receipt for your crypto transfer. Think of it as a "tracking number" for the blockchain.

If you are making a manual deposit to Coinstash, providing this hash is essential for our team to verify and credit your funds.

🏦 From a Centralised Exchange

e.g., CoinSpot, Binance, Swyftx

  1. Log In: Access your account on your exchange's website or app.

  2. View History: Navigate to your Wallet, Transaction History, or Withdrawal section.

  3. Find the Transfer: Locate the specific withdrawal you just made.

  4. Copy the ID: Look for a field labeled TXID, Transaction ID, Hash, or a "View on Explorer" link. Click the copy icon next to the long alphanumeric string.

πŸ” From a Software or Hardware Wallet

e.g., MetaMask, Ledger, Trust Wallet

MetaMask

  1. Open MetaMask and go to the Activity tab.

  2. Tap/Click the transaction you just sent.

  3. Select "View on block explorer" (e.g., Etherscan or BscScan).

  4. The Transaction Hash will be at the top of the page. Copy it.

Trust Wallet

  1. Go to the Wallet tab and tap on the specific coin you sent.

  2. Find the transaction in the list and tap it.

  3. Select "More Details"; this opens the blockchain explorer.

  4. Copy the Transaction Hash displayed there.

Ledger

  1. Open Ledger Live and navigate to Accounts.

  2. Click the account used for the transfer and find the transaction in the history.

  3. Click the transaction to see details and select the Explorer link.

  4. Copy the Transaction ID provided on the explorer page.

πŸ’‘ Why is the TXID important?

  • Proof of Payment: It is the only way to prove a transaction has been broadcast to the network.

  • Status Tracking: You can paste a TXID into a public explorer (like Blockchain.com or Etherscan) to see if your transfer is still "Pending" or has been "Confirmed."

  • Manual Credits: For certain low-cap coins on Coinstash, our team uses the TXID to manually "hand-match" the incoming transfer to your account.

Tips for Successful Tracking

  • Use a reliable and up-to-date blockchain explorer to ensure accurate information.

  • Double-check the TXID for accuracy before entering it into the explorer.

  • Be patient if your transaction is pending; network congestion and transaction fees can affect confirmation times.

How to Track Your Cryptocurrency Withdrawal

  1. Obtain the TXID: Locate the transaction hash (TXID) from your withdrawal details. This can be found in your transaction history.

  2. Choose a Blockchain Explorer: Use a blockchain explorer that matches the cryptocurrency you are tracking. For example, use a Bitcoin explorer for BTC or an Ethereum explorer for ETH.

  3. Enter the TXID: Open the blockchain explorer and input the TXID in the search bar.

  4. View Transaction Details: Check the transaction's confirmation status, number of confirmations, and other details provided by the explorer.- Tracking Transactions: Use blockchain explorers to monitor the status of your transaction. Enter the TXID into a blockchain explorer corresponding to the cryptocurrency you are using (e.g., Etherscan for Ethereum, Blockchain.com for Bitcoin) to view details such as confirmation status and number of confirmations.
