This guide shows you how to set up Automatic Purchases on Coinstash, so your chosen coins are bought automatically each time your regular bank deposit arrives. New to the feature? Read What is Auto Investing / Automatic Purchases? first.
Before you start
Use the website: Automatic Purchases are only available via the Coinstash website login, on a desktop or laptop.
Verified account: You need to be at least Tier 1 verified to deposit AUD. See What are Account Verification Tiers?
Your banking app: You'll need to set up a recurring transfer from a bank account in your own name.
How to set up Automatic Purchases
Step 1 – Open Automatic Purchase
Log in to the Coinstash website and click Automatic Purchase.
Step 2 – Choose your coins
Click the Edit Distribution button to choose which cryptocurrencies you'd like to invest in.
Step 3 – Set your distribution
Search for and select the cryptocurrencies you'd like to purchase automatically, and set the percentage for each. Make sure your total distribution adds up to 100%.
Step 4 – Get your deposit details
Click the Deposit Details button to view your bank deposit information.
Step 5 – Set up a recurring deposit in your bank
Using your online banking, set up a recurring deposit to your Coinstash account, for example daily, weekly or monthly.
You must include "stash" as the description / reference for your deposit for the automatic purchase to be processed.
ANZ customers must use the "Message" field instead of the reference field.
Step 6 – Check the minimum deposit
The minimum deposit amount depends on how many cryptocurrencies you've selected: it's $20 per cryptocurrency in your automatic purchase list. For example, if you've chosen 3 coins, each deposit needs to be at least $60.
What happens next
Coinstash automatically executes a buy order on your behalf when a deposit is made to your account using "stash" as the description or reference (or "Message" for ANZ customers).
Your deposit is split across your chosen coins according to your distribution percentages.
You can turn Automatic Purchases off at any time using the on / off toggle, and change your coins at any time with Edit Distribution.
Troubleshooting
My deposit arrived but nothing was bought. Check that your transfer used "stash" as the description or reference (or the "Message" field for ANZ), that the deposit meets the $20-per-coin minimum, and that Automatic Purchases is switched on.
My deposit hasn't arrived. Many banks hold the very first transfer to a crypto exchange for security checks. See Why is my AUD Deposit Delayed?
I can't find Automatic Purchase in the app. Automatic Purchases are only available on the Coinstash website.
My distribution won't save. Make sure your percentages add up to exactly 100%.
