Ready to kick-start your Collaboratory journey? Bulk importing your institution's core data is one of the first steps to ensure success. Bulk importing isn’t just convenient; it’s essential for a successful setup, ensuring good data hygiene from the start. Administrators are encouraged to import the following data into their Collaboratory:
Institutional units (e.g., schools, departments, centers, offices)
Community Partners (e.g., nonprofits, businesses, schools)
Courses/Sections
Members (e.g., faculty and staff)
HEADS UP! Programs and Initiatives should also be thoughtfully considered during setup. While they cannot be imported in bulk and must be added manually, like other core data points they each generate a public landing page to showcase related content through their lens.
The bulk import feature is a lifesaver when setting up your institution’s Collaboratory. Just remember, Units need to be uploaded first, so everything else falls into place smoothly.
While you can upload in phases, getting most of the data in during onboarding can save you a ton of time later. Plus, who doesn't love a good head start? Check out the video for a brief overview of the bulk import process.
