Mastering Date Ranges: Global vs. Local
Efficient data analysis begins with controlling the timeframe for your reports. Here’s how to master date ranges with Advanced Reporting:
Global Date Range:
Found at the top-right of your report, this setting applies to your entire report, ensuring consistent data visibility across all widgets.
Local Date Range:
Located at the top-right of each widget, the local date range lets you customize the time period for individual widgets.
By default, local date ranges sync with the global date range. However, you can configure them independently to show results for a specific period without adhering to the global setting.
Important Note: The availability of data determines how syncing works. For instance, if there’s no data for a widget in the “Last Month” view, the widget will display data from the nearest available period. |
Filtering Made Easy: Global vs. Local Filters
Filters are your best friend when it comes to refining your data and focusing on what matters most. Here’s how to wield their power:
Global Filter:
Found on the top-left under the report title, this filter applies to the entire report, ensuring every widget displays data based on the same criteria.
Local Filter:
Located next to the local date range of each widget, this filter lets you refine data for individual widgets.
Local filters automatically sync with global filters, provided the data source matches.
