Mastering Date Ranges: Global vs. Local

Efficient data analysis begins with controlling the timeframe for your reports. Here’s how to master date ranges with Advanced Reporting:

  1. Global Date Range:

    • Found at the top-right of your report, this setting applies to your entire report, ensuring consistent data visibility across all widgets.

  2. Local Date Range:

    • Located at the top-right of each widget, the local date range lets you customize the time period for individual widgets.

    • By default, local date ranges sync with the global date range. However, you can configure them independently to show results for a specific period without adhering to the global setting.

Important Note: The availability of data determines how syncing works. For instance, if there’s no data for a widget in the “Last Month” view, the widget will display data from the nearest available period.

Filtering Made Easy: Global vs. Local Filters

Filters are your best friend when it comes to refining your data and focusing on what matters most. Here’s how to wield their power:

  1. Global Filter:

    • Found on the top-left under the report title, this filter applies to the entire report, ensuring every widget displays data based on the same criteria.

  2. Local Filter:

    • Located next to the local date range of each widget, this filter lets you refine data for individual widgets.

    • Local filters automatically sync with global filters, provided the data source matches.
