What is ProCat?
ProCat is CommerceIQ’s alternative to a PIM (Product Information Management) system that allows for direct control and adjustment of gold standard product content. It enables you to consolidate your product content information in one platform instead of managing multiple disparate files, and quickly refresh content for accuracy reporting.
ProCat unlocks advanced catalog and reporting capabilities in the platform. With ProCat enabled, you gain access to:
Gold Standard Features Report – Compare your source-of-truth (SOT) content against live content to identify gaps and discrepancies.
Scorecard Metrics – Track content compliance, bullet compliance, and more across scorecards and reports.
GTIN Matching – Power pricing graphs and reports that rely on GTIN, including availability data.

Any changes made within ProCat will directly impact the Gold Standard content being used by CIQ in your platform.
User Access
ProCat is configured at a user-level permission and should only be accessed by digital shelf and content leads. To access ProCat, navigate to the left-hand sidebar in your CommerceIQ platform and select “Procat” from the bottom of the menu, under Product Content.

Searching and Browsing Products
For any SKUs already set up in ProCat, you can modify and add product content assets. Here’s how to work with existing products:
Search for individual SKUs by product title or GTIN using the search bar at the top of the page.
Export all currently live product content assets by clicking the Export CSV button.
View gold standard content for each GTIN. Click the blue arrow on any product card for more asset details.
Access the GTIN-level breakout to see retailer-specific configurations by clicking into a product.
Editing ASIN-Level Content
When you click into a product’s detail view, you can update the following gold standard fields:
Field | Description |
Name | The Gold Standard Product Title — the title expected to appear on the PDP. |
Title Keywords | Can be added as a measurement field. (Note: This is not currently configured for all platforms.) |
Bullet Points | The Gold Standard Product Description. Up to 9 bullet points can be added for measurement. |
Images | Click the product image to swap out the hero image and/or add secondary images. (Note: Secondary image compliance/order may not be configured for all platforms.) |
Bulk Updates
When you need to update more than one product at a time, ProCat supports bulk operations for non-image assets via CSV import.
How to Import via CSV
Click the Add button, then select Import from CSV.
Select the impacted retailer (e.g., “Amazon-CA” for Amazon Canada — all other retailer data is provided via Salsify).
Download the template, or upload your own CSV file.
If uploading your own CSV, map your headers to the corresponding ProCat fields when prompted.
Preview and confirm your uploads before submitting them into production.
Once changes are live in ProCat, CIQ gold standard compliance reporting will reflect those changes for the next day of testing onward. This does not impact historical data.
Best Practices
Before Making Changes
Before making changes to your existing gold standard content, export the original state of your product information first. CommerceIQ has access to an internal audit log, but any changes applied in ProCat will directly impact your data and reporting.
Adding New Products
If you are adding net new items into ProCat, you must also submit a support ticket to CommerceIQ via support@commerceiq.ai or through the platform directly.
New items added to ProCat will not automatically appear in the digital shelf platform as tracked items. ProCat is a repository for gold standard information only — it is not an input for the product catalog.
Example: You have a new product innovation launching on April 1 and gold standard assets are ready in mid-March. You want to upload those into ProCat so content compliance metrics are available as soon as possible.
Action Steps for New Products
Submit a support ticket with the new product details (GTIN, product title, feature information, pack size, go-live date) and the gold standard product information — ideally at least 2 weeks before launch.
CommerceIQ will set up the new product in the digital shelf catalog and ensure that the ProCat connection for those new SKUs includes the gold standard information.
Once confirmed, you can audit and review that the gold standard information is uploaded as expected within ProCat.
