Who can participate in the Healthier Texas Community Challenge, and how does it work?
Anyone living in Texas can download the Healthier Texas Community Challenge app to register for free. Logging daily healthy habits in the app—such as drinking water, going for a walk, or eating a healthy snack—earns points.
What features are available in the app?
The app empowers participants to:
Log their healthy habits, helping them stay accountable
Celebrate each other’s successes
Find local group health activities
Explore nearby destinations that promote healthy living, like parks and walking trails.
Participants also get free access to health resources, including telehealth coaching, virtual fitness classes, and healthy recipes.
How are the winners determined?
At the end of the competition, the top individuals, communities, school districts, and organizations with the most points overall will be crowned the grand winners. One community, school district, and organization will be recognized for each size category: Metro, Large, Medium, Small, and Extra Small.
