Upload Existing Photos

Have photos on your computer or mobile device you'd like to add to a Project? Here's how:

Before you start

Plan Requirements:

  • This feature is available on all plans.

Permission Roles:

  • All User Permission Roles can upload existing photos.

Platform Availability:

  • Uploading existing photos is available on both the web and mobile apps.

Please Note

When using the Magic Uploader to retrieve photos from the Project's address for the Last 30 days or the Last 12 months, there is a 100-photo limit.

On the web

  1. Log in to CompanyCam, open a Project or create a new Project, and click + Upload Photos.

    *Every photo is attached to a Project in CompanyCam.

  2. Drag & drop or browse for the photos you'd like to add to CompanyCam. Select the photos and then click on Open to begin uploading the photos.

In the app

  1. Open an existing Project or Create a New Project, then tap the + Icon within the Photos Section.

  2. Tap Upload Photos.

  3. Select whether you would like the Magic Uploader to retrieve photos from the Project's address for the Last 30 days or the Last 12 months. Alternatively, you can also Select Photos Manually.

  4. Tap Upload Photos to finish uploading to the Project.

FAQs

When photos are uploaded to CompanyCam, how is the date determined?

If there is EXIF data on the file, CompanyCam will use the created date from the EXIF data. If there is no EXIF data, the date shown on the photo will default to the day it is uploaded.

Do I need to enable access to my device's Gallery to upload photos using the mobile app?

Yes. If you are unable to access your device's gallery, please double-check the App Settings to make sure Access to your Gallery has been enabled.

Can I share photos directly from my device's camera roll to CompanyCam outside of the app?

Yes, you can share photos directly from your device's camera roll! However, an iOS device is required, as it isn't available on Android devices. When uploading photos into CompanyCam from your camera roll:

  1. Open the Gallery app.

  2. Select up to 10 photos and 5 videos at a time.

  3. Tap the Share Button.

  4. Choose CompanyCam under the suggested apps.

  5. CompanyCam will then open, and the confirm upload screen will appear.

  6. Tap upload photos.

  7. Choose the Project that you would like these uploaded to or create a new Project.

Can I select all photos when uploading photos from my camera roll?

No. There isn't a way to select all photos in your camera roll when uploading to CompanyCam. Photos need to be selected 1 at a time.

If you're uploading photos from the same location, use the magic uploader to upload photos from the last 30 days or 12 months. No manual selection necessary. We will pull in any photos with associated metadata that match the Project's address.
