How to Assign Qualifications in COMPASS

This guide explains how to assign qualifications using a multi-stage approach in the COMPASS platform. Qualifications can be assigned in three distinct ways, all of which can be performed at any time.

Steps to Assign Qualifications

1. Through the Qualification Management Section

  1. Access the Qualification Management Section

•Open the main menu and select Qualification Management.

2. Locate the Subcontractor

• In the Qualification Requests Table, find the specific subcontractor you want to assign qualifications to.

3. Open the Dropdown Menu

• Click the dropdown icon at the end of the subcontractor’s row to reveal available options.

4. Assign Qualification

• Select Assign Qualification from the dropdown. This will open the Assign Qualification dialog box.

Note: This dropdown is only visible for subcontractors who are registered on COMPASS with a profile. For unregistered subcontractors, a different dropdown will appear.

5. Set the Qualification Details

In the Assign Qualification dialog box:

• Use the Assign Status dropdown to select one of the following:

Qualified

Qualified with Exceptions

Denied

(This field is mandatory.)

• Set Single and Aggregate Limits by:

• Entering desired values directly.

• Selecting Copy Limits, which allows you to use the COMPASS Recommended Limits or your company’s customized calculation.

• Optionally, set an expiry date and provide a qualification summary.

6. Finalizing Qualifications

• Review the checkbox below the qualification summary:

Checked: The subcontractor will be removed from the Qualification Requests table once qualifications are assigned.

Unchecked: The subcontractor will remain on the table.

• Click Assign Qualification to save, or Cancel (or the “X” icon) to discard changes.

2. Via the Subcontractor’s Details Tab

1. Locate the Subcontractor in the Qualification Requests Table

• Hover over the subcontractor’s company name to display the Details option.

2. Open the Details Tab

• Click Details to open the subcontractor’s profile flyout.

3. Assign Qualification

• Scroll to the bottom of the Details tab and select Assign Qualification.

• Follow the same steps as outlined in Section 1 to complete the assignment process.

3. From the Subcontractor’s Profile

1. Access the Subcontractor’s Profile

• Click the subcontractor’s company name (highlighted in purple) to open their profile.

2. Assign Qualification

• Navigate to the Qualifications Panel on the right-hand side.

• Click the Assign Qualification button.

• Complete the steps as described in Section 1 to assign the qualification.
