MathsAge is a way of allowing everyone involved – teachers, pupils and parents – to have a clear picture of where a pupil is right now, and where the pupil is heading.

The graph below shows the predictions of a pupils' GCSE / Nat5 grade using their MathsAge in correlation to their current age.

The area of each colour in each cell is a representation of the relative probability of getting each grade.

You can see that if a pupil has a matching MathsAge and age then they are on track to get an 8-9 (GCSE England) / A* (GCSE Wales) / A (Scottish National 5). The graph also displays the greater uncertainty in this prediction at early ages and the lesser uncertainty once a pupil is 16.
