Timed Assessments Explained - What they are.

What is a timed assessment on the Complete Maths platform, and can I reopen a timed assessment if my pupil needs a second chance?

Adding a 'Timer' or enabling 'Test Conditions' on an assessment on the Complete Maths platform means that when the assessment is started by a pupil a count down will begin and once the specified amount of time has elapsed the assessment will be submitted.

The timer continues in the background if your pupils exit the quiz. If the timer elapses whilst the pupil is away from the assessment, as soon as the pupil reopens the assessment it will be submitted.

Your pupils are made aware if an assessment has a timer attached or test conditions enabled before they begin by use of the following message.

'Once you start the quiz the timer will start and you will only have the chosen amount of time to complete it. The timer does not stop if you exit the quiz. So only press the button below if you are ready to begin.'

If when creating your assessment you have chosen 'timed' or 'test conditions enabled' it will not be possible to reset or reopen your assessment.

You will notice that the 'Undo Complete' button is still present on assessments which are timed however if you were to click this in order to reopen the assesment for your pupil the assessment is reopened, but then immediately closes again once reaccessed on the pupil side, as the timer has elapsed.
