The Pupils page on your TUTOR teacher account will allow you to rank pupils from most to least total Goals completed. If, however, you want to see pupil rankings within a specific date range - for instance, as part of a half-term competition - you can do so through the TUTOR analytics panel.

To access the analytics panel, you will need to go to www.powerbi.com - the login credentials will have been shared with the lead user at your institution at the beginning of your subscription.

Top Tip: If your school uses Outlook, we'd advise signing into PowerBI in an incognito window or with private browsing mode turned on - this means you won't have to keep switching between Microsoft accounts.

Once you are signed in, you will need to click into the 'TUTOR Analytics' report to access your school's data.

From here, to find the Top 25 pupils within a specified date range, you'll need to:

  1. Go to the ‘Summary’ page, and then the ‘Pupils’ box on the left hand side

  2. Change the date range filter to the dates within which you'd like to view activity

  3. The ‘Pupils’ box will now show you the Top 25 pupils across your school, ranked according to the number of Goals completed within the specified date range

  4. If you wish, you can also filter the results by class using the 'Classes' dropdown menu - simply select the classes you wish to include

Goals encountered versus Goals completed

Teachers often ask: What's the difference between 'Goals completed' and 'Goals encountered'?

'Goals encountered' refers to every single Goal against which a pupil has answered a quiz question - this includes Goals tested in the Diagnostic, or as part of the Readiness or Remember quizzes.

'Goals completed' refers to those Goals for which pupils have watched the 'Learn' and 'Do' videos and then scored 80% in the Goal quiz, or for which they have scored 100% in the Goal quiz.

It is normal and expected for pupils to have encountered many more Goals than they have completed, so do not be alarmed if the numbers are very different for some of your pupils.
