Import RFQ

Did you know The Business Edge has the capability to import detail lines into an RFQ? This simple process can save you a lot of time when you have the items you want to request a quote on in a spreadsheet.

You will save the file in the Text Tab Delimited Format when importing the RFQ Detail lines. You will see this as an available option under File, Save As in Excel.

The file must contain the following columns in the same sequence as below:

Next, start an RFQ, optionally select your vendor and fill in any necessary Heading information. Then press Esc or OK to go to the Detail Lines. You can now Press F7-Import Detail Lines

The system will ask you for the file name, this is where you can type in the name of the file you created in Excel, i.e. rfq.txt. The file name is case sensitive so you must type it in exactly the way you saved it. You can also use the blue box on the left-hand side of the Import File Field to look for your file in a list of files that have been saved to your directory.

The system will then import the line items from your file directly into the RFQ you are in. These detail lines can be edited or changed as you would any other RFQ

Hint: If you are creating an RFQ, you can easily export the detail lines from a Sales Order, re-format the data and then import it into an RFQ
