The Business Edge has a new feature which will allow you to create Processing Purchase Orders from within your orders. This convenient new feature means you don’t have to leave the order entry screen in order to create a Processing Purchase Order. In order to use this feature a Bill of Material and Primary Vendor must be set up in the Product Master File.
When your Customer places an order for one of your products that is a kit or a processed part simply enter an order and proceed to the detail lines. At the detail line screen add the product code and the quantity the Customer would like to order and click on Quick ARS on the right hand side under options:
After you click Quick ARS you will automatically be taken to the Automatic Replenishment System’s Select Documents screen. This screen gives you a variety of options. On this screen you can see that The Business Edge automatically suggests that a Processing Purchase Order is created because there is a Bill of Material attached to the part number that you have entered on the order. There are several other options on the right hand side such as the option to change the document type to an RFQ, PO, WO or even remove the item from the list if you do not wish to create a PPO at this point
If you are ready to create a Processing Purchase Order for this item simply press OK at the bottom right hand side of your screen. The Business Edge will ask you to confirm that you are indeed ready to create the documents. Click Yes to confirm
The Business Edge will then prompt you to print out a copy of your Processing Purchase Order, Pick Ticket, Packing List or Receiving Document. The option of printing the document is not a requirement. However, at the bottom of this screen you must select Yes to create the Processing Purchase Orders
Once you have selected Yes to create the Processing Purchase Orders and selected which document, if any, you would like to print The Business Edge will show you a summary of the documents you have created as shown below
The Business Edge will then bring you back to Enter & Edit Orders in order for you to complete the order.
