The Orders in Excess of Stock Report is very useful tool. It can be used to quickly isolate products that you need to order so that you can fill all of your customers orders. You can generate this report for any range of products, by Product Code, Alternate Product Code, Classification or Description.

The system will look at the Quantity on Hand and the Quantity on Customer Orders. If the quantity on hand is less than the quantity on Customer Orders the part will be included on the report.

You can also optionally select to include quantities on PO’s and Processing POs in the calculation. Most companies do include these quantities, to get a true picture of what needs to be ordered. If the item is already coming in on a Purchase Order, there is no need to order it.

You can get different versions of this report based on the way you answer some of the options.

Include Order Detail: If you answer yes to this, the system will include the Order information: Order Number, Customer Number and the Quantity on each Order. Some companies use this version of the report so that they can see if their Customer has re-ordered the same part. That way they can verify with their customer they quantity they would like and not order too many.

Show Customer Name: If you answer yes to this, the system will include the Customers name otherwise it prints the customer number along with the order detail. If you are printing the report the description will be abbreviated in order to fit the Customer Name.
