Using the Customer Notes in The Business Edge is a convenient place to record information about your Customers. Whether it is a note to follow up on a Quotation or a note indicating when they will be sending you a check. Users can easily view the Customer Notes and know what is going on.

The key to good Accounts Receivable collections is to follow up with your customers when they make a promise. If they promised you a payment on a certain date, you want to follow up and make sure the payment has been made. If you only do collection calls once per month you are losing valuable time.

Follow up is also important when you are quoting, your timely follow up might just get you the order.

Customer Notes can be entered on the first two screens of a Sales Order by clicking on or pressing the F3-Notes key as well as F3 in a Customer Inquiry. Notes are stamped with the Date, Time and User that entered the note. The most recent notes are displayed on the top of the screen. Users can also enter a follow up date, time and type.

If Users enter a follow up date, they can have the system remind them about the Customer Notes that they need to follow up on. There is a User Flag in Accounts Receivable โ€“ Show Customer Follow Up Notes on Login โ€“ the options for this flag are as follows: All up to Today, Today Only and Never.

If a User selects either of the first two options, each time they log into The Business Edge they will see a scroll box with The Customers and the Notes they wanted to follow up on. Even if you donโ€™t have time to do it right away the system will keep reminding you upon logging in until you remove the follow up date.

Users also have the option of viewing Notes that require follow up in an Inquiry. The Customer Notes Follow up Inquiry is located in Miscellaneous A/R Reports.
