The Sales Summary Inquiry is a very flexible report which enables you to analyze your sales in multiple ways. The report can be found through the path:

Accounts Receivable System
Accounts Receivable Reports
Invoice Reports
Sales Summary Inquiry

Below are the choices for running the report. Choose your range of dates and your Summarize By options. There are several choices for summarizing the report as seen in the second screen below. You can choose Yes/No to summarize customers, products, branches and document functions.

Below we chose to summarize by Ship to State and selected No to summarize all of the other fields. As you can see in the time period selected there were 4 products sold to 5 different customers with a Total Cost of $10.45 and Total Sales of $571.70. Since we said No to summarize, the states of IL and WA are listed twice because there were two Customers for both of those states in the specified timeframe.

In the screenshot above the Ship to state of IL is highlighted. When you enter in or double click on a line, you will be brought to the screen below where you will see more detailed information such as invoice number, salesperson, shipper, etc.

When you drill in on a line all of the available fields you can choose to view are shown below.

In the example below we chose to summarize by Ship to State and selected Yes to summarize the remaining options. The summary numbers at the top are the same since we chose to run the same date range but the report is more consolidated since we chose to summarize all fields. For example we had two sales in the states of IL and WA which are shown on one line only. In IL the sales were for two different customers purchasing the same product. In the state of WA one customer brought two different products and two invoices were created.

The column headings will change based on how the questions are answered.

Once again if you enter in or double click on the highlighted line you will see all customers from the state selected along with their sales as seen below. There were two sales in Illinois to two different customers. There are also many more available optional fields to view as shown earlier.
