Updating List Price and Costs

Did you know that there is a variety of methods available to update your Costs and or List Prices in The Business Edge?

Default P.O. Cost, Standard Cost, and List Price can be updated individually through Enter & Edit Products. Faster and more efficient methods are also available. You can update your prices by Importing them or through Menu selections designed to update them based on a selected percentage.

Importing – You can export your current pricing into Excel through the Export Menu. You can then make any necessary adjustments and Import the new pricing back into The Business Edge.

If you use Manufacturer Part Numbers as your Product Code you can also update your costs from a file that you receive from your Vendor.

If you are updating your List Price, you can apply different percentages to current List Prices or apply a multiplier to your Cost to calculate a new List Price in Excel.

Once you have a spreadsheet with the new desired Costs or List Prices they can be updated in The Business Edge through the Import Menu.

Menu driven options – In the Inventory System there are Menu options that enable you to apply a percentage increase or decrease to List Price, Default P.O. Cost or Standard Cost. To do this, you simply select the percentage you would like to change your prices by and a range of Products that you would like to change. The range of Products can be selected by Product Code, Product Classification, Alternates, or Description.

The system will then provide you with the ability to select exceptions from the range that you selected. Next you will be presented with a confirmation screen where you can view, print, or export the changes so that you can check them for accuracy before you proceed with the final update.

Once you are satisfied with the changes you can answer yes to Update and the range of products you selected will be updated.
