Graphical User Interface Short Cuts

The Business Edge has many keyboard shortcuts that enable users to move quickly through screens without picking up the mouse. Below is a list of shortcuts that can be used in the graphical user interface.

Pressing the Esc key works just like clicking the Ok button

Ctrl-Tab jumps from tab to tab.

Ctrl-R activates the Reload button.

Pressing the Enter key is the same as double clicking on an item.

The Up & Down arrows move up and down in a selection box and grid.

The Left arrow and Page Up keys page up in a selection box and grid.

The Right arrow and Page Down keys page down in a selection box and grid.

The Home & End keys take you to the beginning and end of information in a grid.

The Tab key and Enter key both advance the cursor to the next cell on a form.

The Shift-Tab key combination takes you back to the previous cell on a form.

There are Fkeys assigned to the buttons in the east region accordions.

Ctrl-D key will take you to the delete button

Ctrl-E keys take you to an email when you are in a grid.

Ctrl-F keys puts the cursor in the Find dialog box when you are in a grid.

Ctrl-X keys activates the Excel button when you are in a grid.

Alt-1 through Alt-9 key combinations open accordions under Options.

The command-Q key closes the application window (only for Macs)

You can see some of the hot keys if you change your “Show Hot Keys?” flag to Yes in User Flags – General – example below.

An example of the hot keys being shown are below:

F3 will show Open Customer Invoices.

If you Press Alt-3 the “Prices & Contracts” accordion will open.

Alt-8 will open the “Images & Faxes” accordion, and so on.
