What you need
- Your phone
- The printed attendance report (the pages with the absent and tardy students)
- The scanner login the school was given
Step 1. Sign in
Open your phone's browser and go to
Sign in with the scanner login. You land directly on the Attendance Scan page.
(The first time only, you may be asked to accept the ConciergePad terms. Accept them and you will be taken to the scan page.)
Step 2. Take a photo of each page
- Lay the page flat on the desk, in good light.
- Tap the big green "Take photo of page" button. Your camera opens.
- Take the photo. A small picture of the page appears on the screen with the word "uploaded" under it.
- Do the same for every page of the report, one page at a time.
- The line under the pictures tells you how many pages are uploaded.
Step 3. Read the pages
- Tap "Read pages".
- Wait about one minute. The button says "Reading pages" while it works.
If you see a red box that says "Not every student was read", the photo missed some names. Lay the page flat again, tap "Retake", and take the photos again.
Step 4. Check the list
The page shows every absent and tardy student it found.
- A checked box means that student will be recorded.
- Rows at the top under "Please verify" need a quick look. The note next to the name tells you why. Uncheck anyone who should not be recorded.
- Orange rows could not be matched to a student, or the name did not match. They are unchecked and will not be recorded. Those can be entered by hand in the app later.
- The header shows the date of the report. If two dates show, the stack had two different reports in it. Check each row's date.
Step 5. Record
- Tap "Record checked rows".
- The screen shows how many were recorded and how many were skipped.
- Skipped means it was already in the system, so nothing is doubled.
Step 6. Next report
Tap "Scan another report" and start again at Step 2.
Good to know
- A student already marked absent who is then recorded as tardy will be switched to tardy automatically.
- If a page did not upload (it says "failed" under the picture), just take that page again.
- If the page ever says "Sign in again", tap it and sign in. You will come right back.
