Summary
OmniClass classifications are very helpful within ConCntric. For example, when in Calibrate, you can use the classification as a filter to focus on projects or components that are relevant to the cost comparison you are doing. Or when you are creating benchmarks in Concept hub, you can use the same classification filters.
These classifications apply to the project as a whole, and that is something you set up when you first create a project and can modify in the details page.
You also apply classifications at the components level.
But this list can be very exhaustive and you want to simplify it based on your company's needs. An admin can do that from the OmniClass Standards settings.
This is a comprehensive list for all the available Omniclass categories. You can select the ones that you want to see in the list when specifying classifications in your projects and components. You can also use the search bar to easily locate categories.
Now when you want to specify a classification to a project or a component, you will only see the list you curated. ConCntric will not remove any existing classification but will show you both existing and your curated list to help you better organize classifications within your account.
The projects list in the enterprise solutions is a great way to bulk update project classifications. Simply select the projects you want to update, select the new classification from your curated list, and click Update all.
To update components’ classifications, you can open each project and do it one by one or use Amplify. Simply ask to update components classifications and then follow the prompts. For example, upload an Excel file that contains the project's name, the component's name, and the new classification you want to use.
Amplify will show you a summary of the changes, and you can decide to reject or Accept if you are ready to apply the changes.
