Setting up a new product in Confido requires completing four key steps in sequence: creating a sellable unit, configuring a corresponding case, establishing pricing, and defining a shipping configuration. Follow the steps below to get your new item ready to layer into the forecast.

Step 1: Set Up a Sellable Unit

This is the sellable unit on-shelf at the retailer, that will tie to what will typically come through in Consumption Data (i.e., what scans at the register).

Start by navigating to the bottom left-corner of Confido, clicking on the three dots, and then clicking "Products". On this screen, navigate to the Sellable Unit tab and click the New Sellable Unit button. A window will appear where you can enter the following details:

  • Name – The name of the new sellable unit.

  • Product Family – Select from an existing product family or create a new one directly within this tab.

  • UPC – This will serve as the source of truth when working with scan data.

  • Any additional relevant item details.

Step 2: Set Up a Corresponding Case

The Case represents the shipping unit sent to customers, typically containing multiple Sellable Units (e.g., a 4-Pack of Cans that scans at the register may ship in a Case of 6 4-Packs).

Navigate to the Case Tab and create a new case to link to your sellable unit. Here you can input:

  • Name – The name of the case.

  • Linked Item – This is the identifier that Confido will read against your ERP when actualizing shipments. If you are connected to an ERP configuration, it is important to enter the correct linked item being fed from the ERP for Confido to actualize shipments in the Forecast.

  • Pack Content – This is how you link the sellable unit to the case. Click Add New, select the sellable unit that rolls into this case, and input the quantity of sellable units per case (e.g., enter 12 if you ship 12 sellable units per case).

  • Default Case Price - This will set up the default price used for all customers (note you can create Customer-specific price overrides, see Step 3)

Step 3 (Optional): Set Up Customer-Override Pricing

Navigate to the Pricing Tab and click New Price. Note that this is the price charged to your distributor or direct retailer — not the on-shelf consumer price. You can configure the following:

  • Case Product – Select which case product this price applies to.

  • Shipment Customer – Select a specific customer to create a customer-specific price override. If left blank, the price will act as the default for all customers (useful when most customers share one price but a specific customer has a different rate).

  • Distribution Center – Optionally map pricing to a specific distribution center if applicable.

  • Effective Date – Schedule future price changes by entering an effective date. Confido will automatically apply the new pricing starting on that date.

  • Amount – The dollar value for one case of the case product.

Step 4 (Optional): Set Up a Customer-Override Shipping Configuration

Navigate to the Shipping Tab and click New Shipping Configuration. This configuration is used to translate consumption forecasts into shipment forecasts. You can configure the following:

  • Product – Select the sellable unit this configuration applies to.

  • Customer – Select a specific customer to apply this configuration only to them. If left blank, it will act as a default shipping configuration for all customers.

  • Effective Date – Set the date this shipping configuration should take effect.

  • Shipping Product – Select the shipping product for the sellable unit. Confido will use this to determine how the sellable unit rolls up into the appropriate cases when generating a shipments forecast.

You're All Set!

Once all steps are complete, your new product is ready to be layered into the forecast. If you have any questions or run into issues during setup, please reach out to your Confido administrator.
