Products can be discontinued in the consumption forecast by clicking the "Discontinue" button:
Clicking this button will surface a menu that enables the user to decide how broadly (e.g. which planning groups) they wish to discontinue a product or product family's forecasts. (Note: If the user elects not to specify a customer or retailer, the chose product will be discontinued across all forecast rows)
The user will be required to enter a "Discontinue date" to specify when the forecast should be zeroed out. Once they do so, they will be presented with the impact of the discontinuation, including the relevant promotions, opportunities, and forecast rows impacted.
Note: If you apply a ramp period to a discontinuation, the ramp period runs after the Discontinue date, not before it — the forecast holds at its normal level through the discontinue date, then ramps down starting from that date.
Difference From Marking a Product Inactive
Discontinuing a product only zeroes out its forecast for the planning groups/customers you specify — the product itself stays active in the system. If you want to fully deactivate a product everywhere (not just in the forecast), change its Lifecycle status instead:
Navigate to the bottom left-corner of Confido, click the three dots, then click "Products."
Search for and select the product.
Click "Edit."
Update the Lifecycle field to "Inactive" and save.
Use Discontinue when you want to zero out a product's forecast for specific customers or planning groups. Use the Inactive Lifecycle status when you want to retire the product.
